The SouthCoast Wind offshore wind project will be some 90 miles south of Swansea, MA. It has the potential to generate enough clean, renewable energy to power more than a million homes. We expect to deliver some of that energy via Brayton Point where we have identified two potential landfall locations for our submerged subsea export cables to come ashore and connect to the regional electric grid. The preferred landing is the Lee River on the northwest portion of the site and the alternate is the Taunton River on the southeast side of the site (please see project map attached).
This important renewable energy project will:
- Create local, well-paid construction jobs and supply chain opportunities
- Support local organizations and residents, including education programs and workforce training
- Help meet climate goals by providing clean, renewable wind energy
The Agenda for the evening will go as follows.
- 6:30 - 7:30: SouthCoast Wind Presentation and Q&A
- 7:30 - 8:30: Prysmian Presentation and Q&A
- 8:30 - 9:00: Additional Q&A as needed
