Information for
Swansea Village Park
The Swansea Village Park which is located in Swansea Village is one of the town's hidden gems. Located behind the Swansea Town Hall and Library complex at 81 Main St., the park provides miles of walking trails through beautiful natural scenery. The pathways wind through the monoliths of puddingstone or consolidated rock with names such as Wildcat Rock and Abrams Rock. These rock formations rise above the forest floor and provide a natural habitat for native vegetation and animals.

The original purchase of 69 acres in the mid-1980's as a result of a state self-help grant to provide protected open space, has grown to more than 194 protected acres through purchase of land from the Wilson Curtis Family Trust and the NRG power company. This additional acreage was purchased with funds from the Community Protection Act fund of the Town of Swansea.

Access to the park is throughout the parking lot of the Swansea Town Hall.
