Information for
Annual Town Meeting, May 16, 2022

The 2022 Town Meeting will take place on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. for the Special Town Meeting and 7:30 p.m. for the Annual. The Special Town Meeting has four articles for consideration, one of which includes a funding request to install a parking area at Sandy Beach. This endeavor continues the betterments and revitalization of our waterfront as well as our continued efforts to enhance public access to waterways and is a scenic complement to the existing landscape.

The Annual Town Meeting will consider 42 articles in all, including a vote for the Diman Regional School District building project and a citizens petition. The Warrant is available here. Major projects include purchasing a preservation restriction on 190 acres at 299 Market Street. This is a project spearheaded by Conservation Agent Colleen Brown who has worked with Wildlands Trust, the Nature's Conservancy, the property owners at Swansea Country Club, and the Town of Warren/State of Rhode Island. The Town is applying for a state grant and seeking the matching funds of $535,000 in CPC funds. The additional request of $1.5 million in certified free cash would be reimbursable by the grant. View our video below for more information on this significant project. More information on this article and the others to come before the Town is available at our community news website
