Special Town Meeting, October 24, 2022

Our Fall Town Meeting will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Joseph Case High School.  The Special Town Meeting Warrant can be viewed online. Visit swanseaportal.com for more information about included Warrant Articles.  The Town will hear significant questions this year, including changing the elected Treasurer to an appointed one; funding an Owners Project Manager for a Town Hall project; passing a Nuisance House by law; expanding the scope of a Community Preservation Act project for the Luther Museum; funding radios and communication equipment for the Police and Fire Departments; and a major spending request for construction dollars for a renovated and expanded Library project.

We hope you'll join us for Town Meeting. A public informational session concerning the Library Project will take place on Monday, October 17 for a public informational sessions. The Library Building Committee set up this informational website and video  to discuss the project in detail.

Another important presentation will take place at the Board of Selectmen's meeting of Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. At this time, the Capital Building Committee will present its final recommendations regarding the priority to construct new buildings for town offices, the way in which the Committee arrived at the recommended alternative and a series of other recommendations about vacated parcels, use of funds, and how to engage members of the public.
