The Town Clerk’s Office strives to serve Swansea residents in an efficient and friendly manner. The Town Clerk’s Office issues the following items:

• Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates
• Business Certificates
• Dog Licenses
• Recreational Shellfish Permits and Commercial Shellfish Licenses
• Marriage Intentions/Marriage Licenses
• Voter Registration
• Solicitation Permits
• Street Lists

The Town Clerk's Office also handles the Annual Town Census, Proof of Residency and Public Records Requests; we accept Zoning and Planning Board applications; are responsible for the posting of all public meetings for Town Boards, Committees and Commissions; and the keeping of all Meeting Minutes. The Town Clerk's Office oversees Town, State and Federal Elections; Annual and Special Town Meetings; and the preservation/archiving of historic documents.  The Town Clerk's Office handles all burial interments for Mount Hope and Vinnicum Woods Cemeteries; and the sale of cemetery lots for Vinnicum Woods.
