Shellfishing Rules & Regulations - Licensing Information
The Town Clerk's Office issues Recreational/Resident/Non-Resident Shellfishing Permits and Commercial Shellfishing Fishermen Licenses. In order for residents to obtain their permits, a current annual census must be on file.  In order for a Commercial Fishermen to obtain their licenses, a current license from the State is required.  Cash or check is acceptable methods of payment.  All applicants, along with their permits/licenses, will receive a copy of the 2023 Rules & Regulations. - Please read these carefully before venturing out. 
PLEASE REMEMBER, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LICENSE, SHELLFISH GAUGE AND SHELLFISH BASKET ON YOUR PERSON WHILE SHELLFISHING.

Resident Family / Non-Resident (Swansea) Taxpayer - $50.00 
Resident Senior Citizen (65 yrs and older) - $10.00  
Resident Commercial Shellfish Fisherman's License - $400.00  
Resident Commercial Junior Shellfish Fisherman's License - $50.00  
Non-Resident Permit - $150.00
Fourteen Day Non-Resident Family - $50.00 
Veterans Permit - $50.00 
Duplicate License - $10.00
Shellfish Gauges - $6.00
